There has been an avalanche of Christmas ales since we first brewed ours in 1998. Ours is a great, much anticipated ale every year, and we’ll continue to brew it for you.

But we were itching to do something different. Maybe we’re just restless.

There is no agreed-upon style guidelines for this ale. So we took inspiration from John Lennon’s lyrics. We imagined an ale that is meant for winter solice and the need to just slow down, while not being tied down to style guidelines.

We thought about slowing down the holiday season and all the associated hustle and bustle.

More complex than our Christmas Ale, your first sip immediately draws you in.

You’re on your way to take a pause. And maybe do a little dreaming.


Style Guidelines: Winter Warmer

Rotation Schedule: once a year, in November

Food Pairings: rich beef stew; smoked puled pork with BBQ sauce; meatloaf; sweet potatoes; soft cheese; ham and roasted meats; holiday feasts

Grain: Pale and Crystal

Bittering Hops: American Cascade
Finishing Hops: German Hallertau
