In 2009, we brewed a beer we called Red Molly. It celebrates red hair and black leather, a Richard Thompson reference. You can read about our original Molly here.

We went back to the well, celebrating red again. There's another Molly, probably the most famous one in history. "Molly Malone" is a popular Irish song, more commonly known as "Cockles and Mussels."

"In Dublin's fair city,
Where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone.
As she wheeled her wheel-barrow.
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, 'Cockels and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"

The song tells the fictional tale of a beautiful fishmonger who plied her trade on the streets of Dublin, and who died of a fever. A legend grew that there was a historical Molly who lived in the 17th centuiry, selling seafood by day and whoring at night. (Way to turn an innocent song tawdry, Ireland!)

So...Smokehouse Red Molly Imp. She's the imp and our ale is the imperial. Get your Molly on.
